February Wrap Up (2016)

Hey guys, this is Abi here,
And since it is the last day of February, I am going to do a Wrap Up for the month of February! So, I bring you my February Wrap Up!

February Wrap Up (2016)
Okay, so these are the books that I read in the month of February:
1. Unbecoming, by Jenny Downham
2. The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak
3. Lone Wolf, by Jodi Picoult
4. The Lying Game, by Sara Shepard (Re-Read)
5. Never Have I Ever, by Sara Shepard
6. Ritual & Legacy, by Alex Duval

TBR Jar Challenge
Read a book that was made into a film: The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak
I did read this one, despite the fact that (again) I missed the love show (I went out), it was still really good to read this book as I wanted to read this for the longest time. Full review somewhere on my blog.

So that was my February Wrap Up! I did really hope to read more, but the fact that I 're-read only 1 book as opposed to approximately 4/5 books last month I think I did fairly well!
So I will see you guys on Wednesday, and I will be doing my March TBR! So, I will see you soon, bye!

Ritual & Legacy (Vampire Beach #3 & #4), by Alex Duval (Part 2)

Hey guys, this is Abi here,
And since I mentioned in my last post that I would be reviewing the two stories separately, I will be reviewing Legacy as of today. So, let's get on with the review!

Ritual & Legacy (Vampire Beach #3 & #4), by Alex Duval (Part 2)
Title: Legacy
Author: Alex Duval
Genre: Speculative
Release date: 5th June, 2007
Pages: 249
Blurb: " Life couldn't be better for Jason Freeman. He knows all about the vampires in Devere Heights; he'd almost been killed by some of them - - twice. But Jason is over all that. The end of senior year is approaching, and he's totally, insanely in love with Sienna Devereux, the most "jolie" vampire of them all.
While Sienna's parents are dead-set against the relationship, Aunt Bianca offers Jason a proposition he can't resist: If he transforms into a vampire - - like Aunt Bianca did- - he will inherit her estate, her influence, her power: her legacy. And Jason is free to be with Sienna - - forever.
There are big decisions for Jason and Sienna to make - - decisions that could change their lives. And Jason would die to be with Sienna..."

My Thoughts
This book was a quick read, from a series I read long ago. And it was really nice to revisit the characters from this story. If you are in the mood to read a vampire book that it won't take you long to finish, has loveable characters and an electric plot that you won't be expecting to go the way it does, then this series (as a whole, but specifically this book) is for you!

And those are my thoughts on Legacy, by Alex Duval. I'm sorry that I talked about it in more of a general sense and I didn't go into a whole lot of detail, but sometimes you just... can't.
I will be doing my February Wrap Up tomorrow, so stay tuned for that! And with that, I bid you goodnight!

Ritual & Legacy (Vampire Beach #3 & #4), by Alex Duval (Part 1)

Hey guys, this is Abi here,
And I am going to do another review! So, with further ado, let's get on with the review!

Ritual & Legacy (Vampire Beach #3 & #4), by Alex Duval (Part 1)
Now since this book is two and one, I'm going to focus on Ritual today, and do a review of Legacy on Sunday.

Ritual (Vampire Beach #3), by Alex Duval
Title: Ritual
Author: Alex Duval
Genre: Speculative fiction
Release date: 16th June, 2008
Pages: 217
Blurb: "The A-list bites.

Jason Freeman has gotten used to the fact that beneath its glamorous surface, DeVere Heights is full of unexpected secrets. And vampires. Then just when he thinks he's golden, he's attacked. With a crossbow.
At first the attention Jason gets from his crush, Sienna, makes the wound almost worthwhile -- especially after she breaks up with Brad. But the crossbow-wielding lunatic isn't finished, and his next victim is found dead with a bolt through the heart.
As tensions rise at DeVere High, suspicions about the attacker point to pretty much anyone. There's something cold and hard in Brad's eyes-the look of a killer? Nah...."

My Thoughts
Now, this was the last one that I read in the series (it's insanely hard to find the whole series in one), and even though it was in a different order to the actual series, I can still remember what each book brought, and to be honest (hate to say this, really do) but I really didn't think that it flowed as much as the others. There were points where I just wasn't interested in some of the parts. I think it might have been because I'd already read the rest of the series, and apart from a couple of things, there was no point in this one becoming a book. And also, I thought that those events would happen way differently.
And also, the ending seemed a bit rushed...
Saying that, their were some good points. It's easy reading, I read it in literally half a day, just wanting to know more. It was so frustrating in what happened, I swear I was mentally shouting at the book, just kiss eachother! (If you've read the book you know what I'm talking about).
So, that is my review on Ritual! Let me know if you have any thoughts on my review, or the book itself! See you later, bye!

Never Have I Ever (The Lying Game #2), by Sara Shepard

Hey guys, this is Abi here,
And I can't believe how quickly I finished this book!
I don't really have else to say, so let's get on with the review!

Never Have I Ever (The Lying Game #2), by Sara Shepard
Title: Never Have I Ever
Author: Sara Shepard
Genre: Contemporary, thriller
Release date: 2nd August, 2011
Pages: 309
Blurb: "My perfect life was a lie. Now I'd do anything to uncover the truth.
Not long ago, I had everything a girl could ask for: amazing friends, an adorable boy-friend, a loving family. But none of them know that I'm gone- that I'm dead. To solve my murder, my long-lost twin sister, Emma, has taken my place. And now my killer's watching her every move.
I remember little from my life, so all I can do is follow along as Emma tries to solve the mystery of my disappearance. But the deeper she digs, the more suspects she uncovers. It turns out my friends and I played a lot of games- games that ruined people's lives.
Anyone could want revenge... anyone could want me- and now Emma- dead.
Let the Lying Game continue...

My Thoughts
I don't know what it is about this book, but I didn't quite like this book as much as the first one. I think it might be that I like starting new series, but this one seemed a bit lighter. I mean, I think what I liked about the first one was that you had the feeling that the killer could be anywhere, but when specific people are suspected, it kind of loses the constantly looking over your shoulder kind of feeling, which I really liked about the first book.
Saying that, I did still really like this one. God, the romance, tension and plot development had me scowling in frustration (that's a good thing), and if you have read this, you know what I'm talking about (romance).
Also, the characters are a bit confusing. It's like me when I was in primary school. They're yelling, and then they're best friends again, and then they're suspects again, but I'm hoping the characters will make more sense in the next book (already ordered it).
I did actually really enjoy this book, even though it may not seem like it, but I really did, and I'm really looking forward to reading the next one (Two Truths and a Lie).
So, I will see you guys on Friday! Byeeeee!

Buying Books At Charity Shops

Hey guys, this is Abi here,
And today I wanted to talk to you about... buying books at charity shops.
So, think about it. You get a book anyway, and it's the same quality as you'd get in a normal bookshop, and if not, the money goes to charity. Also, odds are, it's going to be cheaper.
I mean, half of my TBR List are from charity shops:
-Nineteen Minutes, by Jodi Picoult
-Ritual and Legacy, by Alex Duval
-The Girl With All The Gifts, by Mike Carey
-More Than This, by Patrick Ness

I mean, look at this book. I got More Than This, by Patrick Ness for 95p, and it's in near perfect condition, at a charity shop. Also, it is a hardback, and it would originally have cost me £12.99, had I bought it in Waterstones. Nothing against Waterstones, I love them, but I got this from Air Ambulance.

Now, remember when you buy a book at a charity shop, it isn't about the price, it's the fact that by buying this book, you are helping someone else from maybe a life threatening situation. So, please buy a book from a charity shop, whether it be from Age Uk, or Aim Ambulance, or Oxfam, because it's a nice thing to do.

The Lying Game (The Lying Game #1), by Sara Shepard (Re-Read)

Hey guys, this is Abi here,
And yes, I know that it has been a while since I posted a review, and this one may only be a re-read review, but the next book in the series won't be.
And so, I bring you the review of The Lying Game, by Sara Shepard!

The Lying Game (The Lying Game #1), by Sara Shepard (Re-Read)
Title: The Lying Game
Author: Sara Shepard
Genre: Contemporary, thriller
Release date: 7th December, 2010 (old right? But still an incredible book)
Pages: 307
Blurb: "I had a life anyone would kill for. Then someone did.
The worst part about being dead is that there's nothing left to live for. No more kisses. No more secrets. No more gossip. It's enough to kill a girl all over again. But I'm about to get something no one else does- an encore performance, thanks to Emma, the long-lost sister I never even got to meet.
Now Emma's desperate to know what happened to me. And the only way to figure it out is to be me- to slip into my old life and piece it all together. But can she keep up the charade, even after she realizes my murderer is watching her every move?
Let the lying game begin."

My Thoughts
Okay, if you like reading about murder mysteries, bitchy girls doing worse pranks on people, and just a sprinkle of romance, then this is the book for you.
This book is unpredictable and addictive, and that is a dangerous combination because you are constantly on your guard, and suspecting every single character that you come across because as the book progresses, characters that you previously overlooked look increasingly guilty, which is one thing that I think Sara did really well.
She is also really good at making the characters look like one type of person, and then showing them in a different light.
The writing was just a knock-out. It wasn't that descriptive, but it had a way of getting to the point, and I really liked that.
So, those are my thoughts on The Lying Game! I will be reading "Never Have I Ever" next, so, await that review! If you guys have any thoughts on this book, please let me know! And... bye!

Just A Bunch of Rambling

Hey guys, this is Abi here,
And yes, I do know that there is literally only like 1 hour left in the day (probably not even that by the time that I post this), but it is still technically a Friday, and so, I'm gonna roll with it.

So, guys, yes, I know that I haven't posted a review in a while (and by a while, I mean *after checking* 1 week), but I am currently reading "The Lying Game", by Sara Shepard, and it is taking a bit longer than I thought. (And then I will be reading "Never Have I Ever"- also by Sara Shepard), and after finishing "The Lying Game" will I be doing a review, and then for "Never Have I Ever", so please do not worry.

Okay, so that is the end of the post! Yes 1)I do know that I probably could have done better and 2) I am so sorry for that, but I do have to sleep, and that is not an excuse, but sorry, I have to go, and... bye!

Introducing... The Lying Game & Never Have I Ever

Hey guys, this is Abi here,
And I got a new book yesterday, and I will be reading it in the next week, and so, I thought I'd introduce it!
Bear in mind that it is the second book in the series, so I will be introducing the first one too.
So, let's get on with the post!

Introducing... The Lying Game & Never Have I Ever
The Lying Game, by Sara Shepard
The Lying Game centres around Emma, who has to jump in to the life of her (deceased) long lost twin, Sutton, so that she can find out who killed her. But then she finds out that her twin was involved in a game called the Lying Game where they play tricks on people. And trust me on this when I say that these games are so intense and dangerous. Now could they have gone to far? Was one of their victims the killer?
Also, we see it from Sutton's perspective, which is a completely new concept for me since I've never read a book that does that.
This book is intense, mysterious and totally addictive, and I can't wait to re-read this again, because it has been a while since I read this. And that brings me to the next one...

Never Have I Ever, also by Sara Shepard
I can't really talk about that much concerning this book, because 1) this book is the second in the series 2) I can't really remember the first one since its been so long since I've read it, and 3) I haven't read this one either!
But if this one is anything like the first one, I know that I'm going to enjoy it!
So, with that, I introduce The Lying Game & Never Have I Ever, both by Sara Shepard!
Byeeeee!

February Book Haul (2016)

Hey guys, this is Abi here,
And I'm sorry I didn't do a January Book Haul, but since I did two December Book Hauls, I figured that it was okay. (Also I literally didn't get any books in January), so here is my February Book Haul!

February Book Haul (2016)
Coffee Morning Sales
Okay, my theatre group did a coffee morning on Saturday, and they sold book, and I kid you not, I bought 7! (If they were 50p each, or 3 for £1, you would too!)

1. The Wolf Brother series, by Michelle Paver
Okay, yeah, I know these look a little young for an 18 year old, and they are aimed at someone younger, but come on, they were 6 books for £2, and they would have been much more otherwise, plus I really the first one years ago.
These books are: -Wolf Brother
-Spirit Walker
-Soul Eater
-Outcast
-Oath Breaker
-Ghost Hunter

2. Point Blanc, by Anthony Horowitz
Now, I currently own 4/10 of the Alex Rider book at the moment, and at present I haven't read any of them. Stormbreaker is the story of a 14 year old boy called Alex Rider (kind of obvious), and he's a spy. From what I can tell, this series is about his adventures. These are the books in the series: (The ones in bold are the ones that I currently own)

-Stormbreaker
-Point Blanc
-Skeleton Key
-Eagle Strike
-Scorpia
-Ark Angel
-Snakehead
-Crocodile Tears
-Scorpio Rising
-Russian Roulette
These are also fairly young, but I loved the Power of Five series, so I thought I'd give this series another attempt. (I've attempted Stormbreaker too many times I've lost count, but why not).

Others
3. Book Thief, by Markus Zusak
Okay, I know that I've already read this and done a review, but I haven't included it in a book haul, so I thought I should. This book, in case you didn't know, is set in World War II Germany, and it is about a girl who steals books. Best Book EVER. Full review on my blog, somewhere.

4. More Than This, by Patrick Ness
Okay, now I wasn't completely sure whether I should buy this or not, because I read "The Knife of Never Letting Go", and that one seemed fairly repetitive, but this one seems really interesting, plus the hype is massive. Who knows, after this one I might read "The Rest of Us Just Live Here"?

5. The Girl With All The Gifts, by M. R Carey
I don't really know that much about this book, but from the blurb, it seems like it's kind of intense, and I really want to read it. That's... about the beginning and end of it, really.

6. I'll Give You The Sun, by Jandy Nelson
Okay, I've wanted to read this for so long. It's about twins Jade and Noah, I have a twin called Ryan. They are both trying to get boys they can't seem to get (I got this from the blurb, by the way), and both me and my brother have been in that place. I really need to read this, particularly as something happens that drives the twins apart, and one perspective is of before this mystery event happens, and one after, and I think that is really interesting. I really need to get on to this soon.

And so, those are all my books in my February Book Haul! I really hope that you enjoyed this post, and I will see you guys on Wednesday! Byeeeee!

Top Romance Books

Hey guys, this is Abi here,
And since it is Valentine's Day (never felt more single), and so I thought I would list my favourite romance books (despite the fact that I don't really read many romance books). So, let's begin!

1. All The Bright Places, by Jennifer Niven
This one is both heart-warming, and heart-breaking because it isn't just about love. It's also got some very dark points in the story for both of the characters, and as they become close, for one of those characters, everything else just gets increasingly worse. This book is so hauntingly beautiful, and it doesn't lie to you, which is why it's one of my favourite romance stories.

2. The Fault In Our Stars, by John Green
Now, most people know what this one is about,  as it is also a film too. Also, this book is the entire package. Funny dialogue (it kind of has to, as it is a VERY serious subject- teens with cancer) but you go on a journey along with Hazel and Augustus, and it's all just so beautifully tragic.

3. Noughts & Crosses, by Malorie Blackman
Now, this book is a jumble of different genres, but primarily is a love book. Not romance, love. Because it surrounds the relationship of Callum, and Sephy. And that relationship is passion, and growing up together, and wanting to take on the world that don't want them to be together because he is a Nought, and she is a Cross. And this book is just... phenomenal.

4. Kiss, by Jacqueline Wilson
I think that this is the first romance book that I have seriously read, (apart from Love Lessons, but that one isn't that realistic), and I can relate so much, because this one is  about unrequited love, (but it's for a different reason than you'd think). But I think I like this one because I can see myself in the main character, Sylvie. (Elements, like I don't think im exactly like her, but you get what I mean).

5. Fangirl, by Rainbow Rowell
This one is really a cutesie romance. The protagonist is Cath, a shy girl who writes fan fiction, and her romance is with Levi, and this is really an unlikely romance, to be honest, but it's so cute! Just... go read it! You won't regret it, promise.

6. Before I Die, by Jenny Downham
Okay, yeah, I know that the title makes the book sounds incredibly depressing, and it will make you cry towards the end, but OMG, this book. Not just the romance, but the entire story. And also, it is another cancer book.
7. Silence, by Natasha Preston
This writing in this book is so delicate, and that's what makes this romance so beautiful. It centres around Oakley, who has been silent since she was 5 (why is released later), and Cole, who has been her friend since way before then. And also, ice-cream is involved, so what's not to like?

And those are my top romance books (and top romances). If you guys have any thoughts about your favourite romance books, or romances, let me know, I love to see your comments! I will see you guys tomorrow, and... Bye!

Lone Wolf, by Jodi Picoult

Hey guys, this is Abi here,
And today I am doing my review of Lone Wolf, by Jodi Picoult! Thanks again for the book, Nan!

Lone Wolf, by Jodi Picoult
Title: Lone Wolf
Author: Jodi Picoult
Genre: Contemporary, adult fiction
Release date: 28th February, 2012
Pages: 445
Blurb: "Luke Warren would sleep in the dirt of it meant he could be under the stars.
He lived by the laws of nature, and would surely want toadies that way.
But Luke is in a coma, and his family must make an unbearable decision.
As tensions and secrets rise to the surface, the tragic accident which brought them back together against the odds could well tear Luke's family apart forever.
They know Luke would not like to live like this. But how can they choose to let him die?"

My Thoughts
Jodi Picoult has never been one to shy away from difficult subjects, and this one is no different. (I mean, I'm not an expert, I've only read My Sister's Keeper and Lone Wolf now) but her books just shock you in the direction that they end up taking you.
This book is about a man and his daughter in a car crash, and having been in a car crash, I could relate to this so much because, when I was reading the book I was thinking "Did my family consider this?", and it made me wonder what my family were thinking around the time.
It really is a heartstring pulling book, particularly when siblings are on opposing signs of a decision, but the characters themselves are what makes the book great, through loyalties that they have to different members of the family that are not revealed until later. It's that that makes this book a solid four stars.
The plot dwindles a bit at the beginning, but as the story progresses, it gets increasingly better, but in jumps, yet, you don't feel that it is rushed, but gradually gets better.
So, this book really opened my eyes. I won't deny that. And it shocked me as well. Definitely recommend this one, but only for those that can handle adult content.

So, those are my thoughts on Lone Wolf, by Jodi Picoult! Unforgettable. And that is all that I have for you today, I'll see you on Sunday, and bye!

Intergalactic Book Tag

Hey guys, this is Abi here,
And this book tag is literally EVERYWHERE. All the book-tubers have done this tag. I'm talking Katytastic, Jessethereader, PeruseProject and  Abookutopia have all done this tag, and now I'm going to do it too!

Intergalactic Book Tag
1. Space: Name a book that is out of this world-that takes place in a world other than our own.
Snow Like Ashes, by Sara Raasch. This book has four magical kingdoms, and four un-magic kingdoms, and it's also set in a completely different time (not sure when, though). Full review somewhere.

2. Black hole: Name a book that completely pulled you in
Slated, by Teri Terry. This book pulled me in and did not let me go until the last page of the final book in the trilogy. This book got given to me from an ex, and I am so glad that he did.

3. Lightspeed: Name a book you are anticipating so much you wish you could travel at lightspeed to get to.
Into the Dim, by Janet B Taylor. This book has a bit of contemporary, and a bunch of Sci-Fi and Historical Fiction, and it comes out 1st March, and I cannot wait to read it.

4. Nebula: Name a book with a beautiful cover
Not just this one, but all of the books in the series. They all just have the intricate details on them, like some kind of clue as to what is in this individual story. When I was reading them in like Year 7, my friend and I would spend ages just analysing the cover, and whenever I see these covers I think this.

5. Multiverse: Name a companion set or spin-off series that you love
I actually don't think that I have read any, so I'm going to have to skip this one.

6. Gravity: Name your favourite romantic pairing that seems to have gravitational pull towards each-other
Matt and Scarlet from the Power of Five series, definitely. They only meet in Necropolis, (fourth book out of five) but the gravitational pull is there.

7. The Big Tree: Name the book that got you started on reading
Ok, I don't think it was a particular book, but this was one of my favourite, and it was the first big book that I read.

8. Asteroid: Name a short story or novella that you love
Again, I don't really read short stories or novellas, but I did read the Assassin's Blade, by Sarah J Maas.

9. Galaxy: Name a book with multiple POV's
All of the books in this series has multiple patients of views, but in this one, all the secondary characters become primary characters, and the unique point of views really make the difference, and it is all done so flawlessly.

10. Spaceship: Name a book title that would be a great name for a spaceship
Divergent.

So, that is the intergalactic book tag! I hope you enjoyed it! If you have any thoughts on what I chose for each category, please don't hesitate to comment. So, I will see you guys soon, bye!

E-Books Vs Physical Books

Hey guys, this is Abi here,
And today I would like to discuss the pros and cons of both E-Books, and Physical Books!
I don't really know what else to say, so let's get on with the post!

E-Books Vs Physical Books

E-Books-Pros
Let's see, hmm:
-They are easier to carry around.
-You can have several books in just one device.
-They're WAY cheaper!

E-Books-Cons
-They're just words on a device.
-You have to go through all the complicatedness of buying them.
-They're really not that impressive.

Physical Books- Pros
Now, this one I know!
-With a physical book, it's not just the words. It's the cover, and the smell of the new book!
-It's more rewarding when you can say that toy finished a book that is 500+ pages.
-The Smell of a new book! (I know that I said that already, but it deserves a second one)
-It's easier to visualise the characters and the story on a physical book (that's just my opinion, to be honest)
-The covers just look more gorgeous.

Physical Books- Cons
This one literally pains me to say these.
-You can only carry the one book around with you, because they are heavy.
-They are fairly expensive (but saying that, there's always libraries)

So, from measuring the pros and cons of both, I have to say, physical books takes it. But don't take my word for it! Comment, what you guys think! E-Books, or physical books? Seriously, when you guys comment, it makes my day.

So, that is all I have for you guys today, I will see you on Wednesday, and... Byeeeee!

The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak

Hey guys, this is Abi here,
And yesterday, I finished The Book Thief!
And so, with that, I give you my review!
So, let's go!

The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak
Title: The Book Thief
Author: Markus Zusak
Genre: Fantasy, Historical, Young Adult
Release date: 2005
Pages: 584
Blurb:          THIS IS THE TALE OF THE BOOK THIEF,
AS NARRATED BY DEATH.
AND WHEN DEATH TELLS A STORY.
YOU REALLY HAVE TO LISTEN.

It's just a small story, really, about
amongst other things:

A GIRL
AN ACCORDIONIST
SOME FANATICAL GERMANS
A JEWISH FIST-FIGHTER
AND QUITE A LOT OF THIEVERY.

My Thoughts
Zusak really was very smart when it came to writing this. I mean, if it was a book about a germam girl in WWII stealing books, it would be a fairly interesting book. But with death narrating a book set in the most bloody time in our history, is just incredible. The book lived up to the hype completely. I laughed, I cried, I grinned from ear-to-ear. Absolute winner.
The characters. Liesel. Hans Hubermann. Max Vandenburg. Rudy. But particularly Hans. He taught Liesel to read and write, despite not being much better at them himself. He was a flawed character, but the accordion... just... just... oh, just go read the book!
Now, the accordion brings me to how beautifully this book was written. I mean the detail of the description is just magical. Plus the way she rounded up the ending just made you think: Wow.
The plot didn't make me feel like it was a plot. It took me on a journey, and I often forgot that it was a book. It made me see Liesel's anger, her sorrow, and her happiness in the events that led to her destruction. It really is an incredible book.
This book took me through twists and turns that have me the maximum capacity to get me through what needed to be shown to me as I got through the book. It introduced me to flawed characters, lonely and grieving characters, and intelligent (but they may not know it), and THE MOST AMAZING CHARACTERS YOU WILL EVER MEET!
And so, that is my review on Book Thief!

And that is all I have for you today guys! I will be seeing you tomorrow, and bye!

Beautiful Books

Hey guys, this is Abi here,
And today I am going to be listing my favourite book covers! So, get ready to see some gorgeous covers! And let's begin!

Beautiful Books
1. The "Throne of Glass" series, by Sarah J Maas
I just needed to have the British version, because I think it just looks better (just-I mean, it kinda looks more natural, if you know what I mean. Probably not, but yeah).
I love all of them, but I particularly like Crown of Midnight, as the colour red stands out, as does Celeana's pose. Like it says "I'm ready to take care of business." She just looks more kick-ass, to be honest.
I mean, I love them all, don't get me wrong, but Crown of Midnight just stands out more.

2. Jenny Downham books (that I've read)
Jenny seems to have a thing for books with beautiful covers, because they are both beautiful, for different reasons.
Before I die just says so things, but most of all it  looks... peaceful. Plus the natural light I just love.
Now, Unbecoming looks is so simple, but I have always thought that simplicity is beautiful. And it describes the book perfectly. It looks like it tells you that the book has lots of different waves, plus the red and orange waves of ??? (I know what it is but I'm not going to say because it is a
part of the book). Anyway, the red and orange really stand out against the blue/green.

3. The "Noughts & Crosses" series, by Malorie Blackman
Now, when I saw these covers, as I went through the series, each new cover, I instantly loved each one progressively more, but when I got to the end, I was like WOW. I mean, I just love the harshness of the cross, and the blue is just exhilarating. Plus the professionalism of the black and white of all the books. Just, cover-wise, unforgettable.

4. "Snow Like Ashes", by Sara Raasch
Okay, now this picture makes it look a bit more bright, a bit more... how do I put this? Erm... a bit more... fake. Because it doesn't show how much it pays attention to detail. I mean, the cover just looks like a completely different book from what it is when it is brighter, but it is still a beautiful cover.

5. "Red Queen", by Victoria Aveyard
This one just speaks for itself really. Again, it's simple, and simplicity in books is always gorgeous when done right. But it's mysterious. And that's what I love about it.

6. "The 5th Wave", by Rick Yancey
And finally, the 5th Wave, by Rick Yancey. Now this one just grabs you. The cover says that things a going to happen in this book. That the characters are going to come to a realisation, just in the way that she is walking to the end of the woods to civilisation when the sun is coming up says that.

And that is all I have for you today! If I have already done this list, then I'm sorry, cos I would have repeated a LOT of books. But I hope you enjoyed this post! I'll see you guys on Sunday, bye!

Unbecoming, by Jenny Downham

Hey guys, this is Abi here,
And OMG, I can't seem to shake this cold...
But no matter, I'm still going to be posting as regularly as before, and today I am doing a review!

Unbecoming, by Jenny Downham
Title: Unbecoming
Author: Jenny Downham
Genre: YA Contemporary
Release date: September 2015
Pages: 437
Blurb: "Three women-three secrets-one heart-warming story.
Katie, seventeen, in love with someone whose identity she can't reveal.
Her mother Caroline, uptight, worn out  and about to find the past catching up with her.
Katie's grandmother, Mary, back with the family after years of mysterious absence and 'capable of anything', despite suffering from Alzheimer's.
As Katie cares for the elderly woman who brings daily chaos to her life, she finds herself drawn to her. Rules get broken as allegiances shift. Is Mary contagious? Is 'badness' genetic?
In confronting the past, Katie is forced to seize the present. As Mary slowly unravels and family secrets are revealed, Katie learns to live and finally dares to love."

My Thoughts
I always knew that I was going to read this book, purely because I'd read 'Before I Die', and loved it.
With a book that deals with all the heavy stuff (coming out, dementia, and disability to name a few (there are more)), you wouldn't think that a book like this would work, but it SO does. And I'll tell you why: because it surrounds family.

This book, from the outside looks incredible cliche and a little bit depressing, but seriously, it isn't. And anyone who has read it will agree with me.

This is because hope is sowed into every chapter. Every character, and every action of every character.
Everything in this book is incredible, but the characters are the beginning, middle and end, and the main plot is seeing all the characters going through a journey, and starting in one point, and ending in a completely different place, and it is a journey of pain, seeking further into illness, and gaining hope, and I am so glad that Jenny wrote this masterpiece that is Unbecoming.

So, that is all that I have for you today guys, I will see you on Friday, bye!

February TBR (2016)

Hey guys, this is Abi here,
And it is February- and so, I will be posting my  February TBR, along with my Monthly TBR Jar Challenge!
So, let's get to it!

Febraury TBR (2016)

TBR Jar: February
The TBR Jar Challenge for February is:
Read a book that was made into a film.

TBR Jar Book: The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak
Again, this book seems the perfect choice for this category, because not only have I really wanted to read this for what seems like all eternity, but PolandbananasBOOKS, Katytastic and Jessethereader are covering this book for the Booksplotion Book of the Month. (Plus, I don't really have any other book adapted films that I still have to read).
(Also, I'm going to read this after Unbecoming, by Jenny Downham).

Other TBR Books
1. Unbecoming, by Jenny Downham

Well, I'm pretty certain that I am going to be finishing this book fairly soon since I only have like 30 pages left until I finish. (I really should have just finished this book before I posted this, but yeah). This book is about three generations of women in the same family. Mary, the grandmother, Caroline, the mother, and Katie, the teenager. And as Katie and Mary grows closer, Mary gives Katie confidence and hope, as Mary loses her memories (she has dementia and Alzheimer's), rules get broken, Lives get ruined, but people get brought together.
Beautiful book.

 2. Continuing all the books in the "Throne of Glass" series, by Sarah J Maas

Catching up with this series is LONG overdue. I seriously need to catch up.

So, that is all that I have for you today guys! I will definitely have my review of Unbecoming, by Jenny Downham ready for you by Wednesday, and I bid you goodbye!
Bye!
